BSOD (INVALID_DATA_ACCESS_TRAP) when upgrade to Windows 11 from Windows 10

When I was upgrading my Windows 10 computer to Windows 11 with Windows 11 Installation Assistant, it caused my PC to restart at around 8% and led to BSOD and an error code INVALID_DATA_ACCESS_TRAP. Eventually, the upgrade fails. What should I do? Any help will be appreciated!

The most efficient way to fix the INVALID_DATA_ACCESS_TRAP error is to download Windows 11 ISO manually.

To manually download and install Windows 11, you should go to the Windows 11 download page first.

Note: You should prepare a USB drive with at least 8GB storage capacity for ISO burning and installation in advance.

Step 1. Click "Download Now" under the "Create Windows 11 Installation Media" section.

Step 2. Run the "MediaCreationToolW11.exe" and accept the license and terms agreement. Then, select the language and tick "Use the recommended options for this PC."

Step 3. Select "USB flash drive" and hit "Next."

Step 4. Locate and choose your USB drive and hit "Next."

Step 5. Wait for the process to complete. Then, boot from the USB and install Windows 11 on your PC.

Now, you have created a Windows 11 bootable USB drive. Then, you can upgrade the system from your USB drive. However, the downloading process might take longer than you expect since it needs to download the files and convert them into an ISO.

Hence, I recommend you use the EaseUS Partition Master Professional, which allows you to download the latest version of Windows 11 ISO and burn it to your USB drive. You can finish the whole process with a few clicks and less time.

Step 4. Set your PC to boot from the USB and install Windows 11.
