Here's the thing: I want to upgrade my HDD to SDD for better running performance of my computer. But the storage space of SDD is 256GB, smaller than my 500GB HDD. Is there any way to help me to clone a larger drive to a smaller one without issues? Thanks in advance!

When it comes to cloning a larger HDD to a smaller SSD, it is hard to find proper cloning software that can do it without issues. However, EaseUS Disk Copy has the ability to meet your expectations.
It enables you to quickly clone the HDD to the SSD without damaging either disk. It will work perfectly as long as the SSD has enough space for the data on your HDD. However, if there's not enough space on your SSD, you can thin it down by moving some of the data to another device or only migrating the OS to the SSD.
Here are detailed steps for you.
Note: Before cloning, you'd better delete all partitions on the SSD, leaving it unallocated, to avoid unexpected cloning errors.
