How Can I Recover Pictures from SD Card or its Image Backup

My SD card kept indicating that it needed to be formatted, which would wipe all the data, but I have many photos and videos on it that can not be wiped. And all the data have been put on the disk image. How can I recover pictures from the image backup or the SD card?
